Is a scam, biggest ripoff in the world!"dishonest" is an understatement

I was helping my mother with her bills when I came across charges from emusic on one of her credit card statements. She has been charged monthly, at first it was $9.99, then it changes to $11.99, for a membership to emusic. My mother is in her seventies and not only does she not have or use a computer, she wouldn't be a member of a music downloading website if she did.

She told me she had noticed these charges once before but she had thought it was something that I had ordered, but my mother, like I said, is in her seventies and she doesn't pay as much attention as she should to things like her credit card statements.

This is how they get you: they hook you with the 25 free downloads just for trying their service, but that is just a big fat lie because you have to give them your credit card, even though its supposed to be a 2 week TRIAL.

I couldn't find any music that I liked and I cancelled the trial.

So This came as a shock to me because I never did sign up for membership. I've never had emusic on my computer, AND I've never downloaded a single song (even when the advertisement said 25 free downloads, just for trying emusic)

These theives have been charging my mothers credit card since Oct even though there has NEVER been any activity, whatsoever, nothing downloaded, and they knew there was no activity and yet month after month they charged her and would have kept charging her had I not noticed it on her statement.

When I notified them to cancel, I explained the situation, they said they would cancel it but I couldn't get a refund.

This is not the first time I've experienced being ripped off by a business and it seems to always happen on the internet, and I have one question: is there really any recourse? Are these companies "untouchable?

(Okay, two questions)

I'm sick of it, they get away with it, thats why they continue to do it.

Whatever happened to morals? Because no one seems to have them anymore.
