Packet 8 VOIP Service
They provide me with absolutely zero value yet still expect to be paid

I signed up for the residential plan and paid for a year up front. $199.00 for a year of phone service with all the unlimited blah-blah seemed hard to beat. Then I started getting complaints from those I spoke with over the phone of sounding like a robot, or like I was under water, or not being able to hear me at all. I spoke with tech support about my issues but was never satisfied and cancelled my account. Anyway I took the phone and put it away and chalked it up to a lesson learned as they were not inclined to refund the unused portion of my paid up year.

Then they renewed it! They hit my account for another $268.00 (two charges total) for another year of no service. I didn't notice the charge right away. It took me 36 days (according to the smirky kid who handles cancelations for them) to notice and call them. That of course is too late to get a refund he happily informs me. When I say I will complain to the BBB and ROR he laughs. Then I check here and see why... Packet 8 has many complaints already. I'm sure I will find the same with the BBB.

If you read this please give their sales dept a call (1-866-879-8647) and tell them you were about to sign up with them until you read this. You can reference my old Packet 8 # 352-205-4282 so they know who exposed them. Even if you never had any intention of signing up with them (smart move) make the call anyway... Just for fun... Go ahead... Do it.
