Rent from her and its deuces wild. You have been warned. Property managers are, as a group, just above pond scum on the evolutionary ladder; but this one actually dives below that dubious benchmark.

If you do lease through her before you read this, dig that lease out now—right now—and read it thoroughly. If you've noticed that it takes six or more phone calls to get her to answer, don't feel bad: that's our experience of her too. If you highlight problems and needs that require immediate addressing, don't be surprised when she blows them off or lays them at your feet, along with any extant costs incurred.

She stole $300 from my girlfriend and I, in the form of a security deposit. We did absolutely nothing wrong to lose that deposit (ie, damage to our former residence, etc.); nor did we break the terms of any lease. We have contacted multiple legal firms; all have prodded us to sue. We will.

Marian Brooker is in cahoots with a self-admitted con man, one Doug Miller (another report will be filed on him shortly). If you are thinking of renting anywhere in San Diego, make sure you do so as far away from these two as you can possible get. Fair warning.
