File a Complaint with NC DOI, FTC, NC Atty General and file a lawsuit

I found out Kross, Lieberman & Stone placed a negative mark on my credit report on behalf of GamePal.com. Prior to this discovery, I have never received any collection calls or emails from GamePal.com and/or Kross, Lieberman & Stone. I didn't even know Gamepal.com thinks I owed them money. To say the least, I never even got a chance to dispute the "dunning" letter prior to them reporting this to the credit bureaus.

For those who are injured by this company, you should file a complaint with NC Department of Insurance. Kross, Lieberman & Stone, Inc is a licensed North Carolina debt collection agency (company number 1014). If enough of us complain, the state will investigate into their practices. For one, I called them 4 times in the last few days because of my situation, and their phone system does not provide the Mini Miranda as required under Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

In my opinion, this is a $1000 violation. Notwithstanding, in addition to filing a complaint with NC Department of Insurance, you should also file a complaint with Attorney General and FTC. Lastly, but not the least, file a lawsuit againt them if you feel they have violated any laws.
