I bought an iphone for my son for $400. When they first came out, he had problems with at&t service since the first day.in April he asked for a manager to cll him they said ok, then on the following monday they suspended his service.
I called at&t in May and set up to make the back payment as well as pay a $9.00 monthly fee plus the $30.00 month data fee, between apple and at&t.
It took over an hour to get it all set up. I was never given a date beyond what I thought would be the next billing statement to pay.
When the bill came in June it was for the back amount plus the $159. Early termination fee.
I called and asked why it was not set up sa it was agreed less than a month before. I was told that my bill was written off, closed and sent to a colection agentcy. I asked why.
Now began the "it's policy" run around. I was told I needed to pay the back due, no problem, willing to do that. But I would also have to pay a deposit before they would restart service. If I chose not to pay the deposit I would have to pay the $159. Service termination fee, I had 60 days from payment to pay deposit or the fee.
All I was asking was for me to pay the payment due, have service restored and no deposit, was denied, policy says I pay back due THEN they will see if I have to pay a deposit to get service restored, then if so and I do not pay that I will need to pay the service termenation fee and be left with a useless iphone that I am still paying mycredit card for, a $400. Phone now being sold for $99.00.
I at&t should honor the agreement we made, let me pay the back due and restore my service.
