Cheap ebay box triggers directv early cancellation fee

I was able to maintain service with Directv for six years by replacing the original equipment with cheap Ebay auction equipment but the cheap stuff did not hold out and I had to switch to Dish Network to get some
updated equipment that is working now. Unfortunately I was disconnecting and reconnecting boxes that trigger a Directv automatically controlled new service agreement and in my case it was just 18 months for each time I
replaced a receiver{ September 27 and November 28}I was able to get this information from the Complaint Department Better Business Bureau

O Box 970 Colton Ca 92324 or I would have never known that Directv information reguarding their customer's agreement is provided by retail dealers via price tray signage, brochures, and weekly circulars or at their individual web sites. My orginal receipt would have advised me that i was subject to Directv's
terms and conditions. I would have also been provided a Directv Equipment Lease Addendum at the time of the sale I missed out on all that part!!! And the the original box I got in 2003 is owned equipment and does not require return to the company but the Ebay BOXES are leased equipment and dead or alive cost 55. Oo each for non return fee Plus 280. Oo early termination fee.
I have 228 days to return these boxes with a police escort to make sure I get proper credit or call 1-800-531-5000 to further research the issue. At
my request they have begin the process of adding me to their internal do not contact list immediately. The only good news is I am 85 years old and do not have a charge card on file with Directv and my doctor at the
hospital today advised me not to rush out and remit 400. Oo to Directv because I have not seen his bill yet. PLUS Chase Carey, CEO DIRECT TV sent a card thanking me for being a loyal consumer since March 17 and ask for feedback on how to run the company GET R DONE!!! America
