Taught me a valuable lesson the painful way

After reading an almost too good to be true e-mail, (they caught me on a brain dead day or something), silly me thought that 1.95 was a more than fair deal to get priceless information about how to get free money that would never need to be paid back. AFTER giving my credit card info, I found out that it was not anything i would be getting in the mail, any info I would be privvy to would be from thier wabsite. It didnt take long to realize there was not much on it that I couldnt have figured out myself, in fact, most of it said I needed to contact the HR depts of different agencies to find out about getting grants. Not too horribly bad for 1.95

Today i recieved my credit card statement with 3 charges from them. The first, dated 5/09 was 38.21, by "Secret web cash". The second, dated 5/09 also, was for 1.95, by "Luckylearnings". The third, dated 5/10, was for 57.61, by "Luckylearnings". It took me asking right befor hanging up to even realize that they were the same. Anyway, I immediatly called the number on my card and the woman who answered had an accent, but spoke english fine. She cancled my "membership", and told me to write an e-mail with the cancelation number she gave me and i would recieve a prompt refund.

So i did just that, and mad as i was managed to be only slightly rude, and believe it or not, within 3 hours I recieved an e-mail back from someone named Irene who told me tho it was of no fault of thiers, if i had read the small print i would have known that i was joining w3hatever it was i joined. She said if i did not cancel payment with the card co, She could refund me partially what i paid, 25.00 and 40.00, respectivly.

That has all been this afternoon and im not sure if i should accept that or what. I'm afraid if I accept her offer and she doesnt refund anything, I'll be totally out of luck. I've never had to cancel a payment thru the card co, so I'm honestly not sure if it's too late by now, or what.

If you come across a deal that just seems too good to be real, at the very least, google them before doing anything else with them, if I had then you can believe that none of this would have happened!
