As an ex owner of a franchise plumber business I can tell you that they teach the service tech to up-sell get the ticket higher. And that free inspection is NOT for you benefit at all, but to point out things that they feel need to get done and will pressure you to replace these items. Remember its all about the up-sell. Weather they call themselves Mr, Roto, Ben it doesn't matter that cutie little uniform and booties only try to hide the rip off and scam that they are going to try to pull on you. Sewer line replacement don't get pressured into replacing the line they are taught to go up to the problem and stop i.E. Rootball, grease ect and tell you your line is collapsed. Better yet they will pull out the old scare tactic and tell you sewer is going to fill your house and you are polluting the ground you need to fix this right now! You didn't need a sewer line at all only needed it cleaned properly. I have seen this time and time again and they will keep on doing this with every 1 out of 3 falling pray to there scam.
