First, the guy who showed up wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount to have my sewer snaked. I got him down to a more reasonable amount only after showing my invoices from another plumber.

The tech was primarily interested in selling other very, very expensive procedures (from 400 to 3300 bucks) and also seemed somewhat inept at using the snake. He insisted that "I did not really want to fix the problem". He even hinted that my house could be "red tagged" for sewer malfunction. I should have tossed him off the property, but he persisted to try and clear the sewer blockage, ultimately failing. He said I needed the "jet" service ($400) or even better to have the pipe "re-lined" ($3300). He said the pipe may have collapsed. He showed me a nice sample of the pipe I could have installed All BS.

This guy was condescending, arrogant, a liar, incompetent and a BS artist. I kept hoping that by accident he would actually clear the line and I would get something to show for my $. After about an hour of this my time was up and he left. He did NOT clear the sewer line.

I called another plumber (a national chain) and the roots were removed from the sewer within 5 minutes (I am not exaggerating, 5 minutes).

I have never been so disgusted with a plumbing service.
