Made cash purchase returned same day for a refund and they refused

ON 05/18/09 made cash purchase at homedepot in lake elsinore ca. Later same day returned one item to store in perris ca. For a refund first they asked me for my ca id card which is not part of ther return policy unless you dont have a receipt so i gave it any ways then the lady said to me we apologize can not give you your money back or store credit for something showing up on your record she handed me an orange card that says for more information call certegy toll free at 1-866-740-3280 which i called and was told i need to pay a dept in the amount of $150.17 but i needed to call check system at 1-800-513-7125 and let them know was reffered by scan for more info well i never had problems in the past i dont know when homedepot started checking peoples credit records i guess now you need excelent credit in order to get a refund made by cash purchase. Homedepot just lost a customer will go shop lowes even though it is further away and will make sure to spread the word. Thank you!
