Only one way to cancel their service... Cancel your credit/debit card Naionwide California

I have experienced the same thing that the users in the other reports did. No response! Call (if you can find a number) and it isn't them, email and it comes back to your own email address that "you tried to send a fax but it couldn't be processed because no fax number was provided".

I signed up for their service several months ago and after I signed up and gave them all my billing information, including my debit card number, I tried to contact them with some questions. I did this via telephone but could never get through. I tried via email and nothing happened. After several days of this unresponsiveness, I decided to cancel the service but couldn't get anywhere with this request (demand) either.

They took one initial charge from my debit card and then a few weeks later I got another one. At this point I call my bank and explained the situation and they agreed with me that the only way to stop these thieves was for me to cancel my debit card and have the bank issue me a new one.

Anyway, I recently got an email from them stating that my credit card would not go through but my account would still be active if I would update card information on the web site. I don't think so. The email went on to say that my account would be put on hold if I didn't update this information.

I searched the web and I believe that they are owned/operated by J2 Communications out of California. I am not going to bother calling them for two reasons: First, they don't list a toll-free number (only a local one) and Second, I thing that SmartFax (if run by these people) is just another one of their rip-off comanies.
