The ordeal started in December when a representative from Verizon Fios talked me into upgrading my existing service to a better package. I was promised that there would be no interuption in service and that I would recieve more channels and faster internet service. Within 5 minutes after of the time I hung up with the Fios rep my service was disconnected, (internet & TV), and was to remain disconnected for four days and not before I made 6 calls to them demanding that they reconnect my service. When they finally did reconnect my service they promised me that they would credit my bill by the days that I was out of service which was $40.00 or-. By the time they were done they had not only charged the $40.00 back to my account, but had also charged me for two service calls which never occurred at the rate of $155.00. I began trying to get this overage off my statement in Janurary. Each time I would call the representative would tell me to expect it to be off my statement the next month. This went on until April of at which time I recieved a disconnect statement for non payment of the outstanding amount due.

I called once more and spoke with an upper management personel and explained, once more, my situation. He assured me that the issue would be handled once and for all and that my service would not be terminated and that he would call me within 24 to 48 hours to confirm. That day never came but what did come was a disconnection of my service two days later. When I called late that afternoon I was informed that I would have to wait until the next day in order for them to background the case.

The next day I call and requested that they terminate my service and that I would take there equipment and drop it off at the nearest Verizon Fios outlet. They informed me that due to an early termination of my contract, that I would be charged a penelty and that I could not get out of paying no matter the situation. They also stated that it was my obligation to wait for them to clear up the accounting issue even though I had been trying for the last four months to do so. I informed them that if necessary I would file on them in small claims. I also was able to get the counter rep at the local Verizon Fios outlet to admit that Verizon has many accounting problems.
