I have notified the IL Attorney General's office

First let me say that I am by no means a dead beat. My credit score is over 780 as is my husband's, and I am not an owner of the company in question nor have I ever been an employee. I have nothing to do with with the company that did not pay or the company that is seeking payment.

Today I received a call from an employee of Cory G Hicks stating that he is preparing a lawsuit against me and my husband as co-defendants regarding a company my husband works for. He also stated that there will be a lien put on my house and property for the amount owed. He also made several other claims such as the company and owner are being investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, the country of the owner's origin, and other groups. I was told because my husband's name is on patents owned by the company he can and will be held responsible as will I because we are married, which I found out from the IL Attorney General's office is completely false. The employee offered to take my name off of the lawsuit if I paid a certain dollar amount, which was about half of the amount owed. I felt that this person was using extortion to get payment from anyone gullible enough to pay, regardless if they were responsible or not.

When I contacted the Illinois Attorney General's office, I was told to file complaints with the Arizona Bar Association and the ARDC of IL in addition to Lisa Madigan's office, which I will certainly be doing. I was also told to tell everyone I know about this company, which is why I am filing this report.
