Do NOT Use Ori Van Lines WARNING! Bay Area

Shops, Products, Services

I had the misfortune of using Ori Van Lines for a move from CA to CO. Everything was great until they decided to increase the cost of my move for pre-listed items. Despite mentioning I had two motorcycles, the day of the move, they told me that I needed to pay an extra $350 per bike (plus the weight for each). When I called to complain, some woman at Ori started yelling at me, telling me I deserve to pay them more, since they were giving me such a good deal. I should have stopped right there, but I didn't want to deal with starting all over again, and they had already started moving my things into the truck. The second complaint is that they charged me almost $700 to box a few things (many things they re-boxed without my consent) and for tape. Furthermore, they ran my credit card for the full amount of the move (when I paid the deposit in cash day-of, and they were not supposed to charge me until delivery). I cancelled the fee on my credit card. Then everything was great, as I had them store everything for three months... No complaints until delivery day.

The day I moved into my place, they told me I had to pay them the full fee in cash. Additionally, they wanted more than was originally quoted, because they said my things weighed about twice what they quoted, despite me itemizing all my things. I had to pay them in cash before getting them to deliver any of my things. I noticed they damaged a few things, didn't deliver six boxes, and gave me a bed frame and box that were not mine. When I complained that some things were damaged, the moving guy said I had six months to file a claim. Actually, I know learned that EVERYTHING had to go on the delivery sheet, including missing items and damaged items. Since I didn't list anything on it, I guess I forfeited my ability to do anything. I filed a claim and got $0.60 per pound for some arbitrary weight for the damaged goods and no recompense for the items they lost/didn't deliver. Additionally, what amazed me, is that I told the mover and called the main number to tell them that they gave me extra stuff, but they didn't care. I have an extra box filled with things and a bed frame, and they have never contacted me about it!

This company is great if you want to pay twice the quote, lose some of your valuables, and have your things damaged. However, if you want anything better than mediocre service, I'd recommend going with another moving company. If you choose Ori Van Lines, beware!!! It was an absolutely miserable experience!
