Funds held three days after buyer received eBay item

I sold an item on eBay, and the person received it. I tried to call PayPal so they would release the funds, but the first representative hung up the phone on me. I called again and was told that I would have to wait 3 days for the release. Now PayPal is making interest on other people's money. What a scam!
