While returning item was confiscate and not refunded.! Customer service reffer one to another without resolving problem.! How to dispute error charge.?

I purchased two items in Target and few days later for some reason I tried to return one of them. When original receipt and item were scaned, and NOT matched I realised that I have been charged for something different. The possibility of mistake with receipts from my side can be exclude since I shopped in Target first (and last) time. I proposed to reviewed the cameras record but I was treated like a swindler, item was confiscate unrefunded!
Customer service reffers from one to another without any attempt to resolve my problem... I feel embarrassed and humiliated...

Is any way I can prove my truth.???
