Reported a collection on my credit report in error

We sold a business they provided a credit card terminal for. The new owners have continued to use the terminal & their services. Evidently, they opened a new merchant account for the new owners rather than linking them to the existing non-cancelable one. They will not provide any help in correcting this problem. Their employees are uncooperative & hateful rather than being helpful. They have created a dead in. I had to pay $351 to get it off my credit BUT they won't even report it as paid.
