Offered a job, then didn't follow through with it

Shops, Products, Services

I went to an interview at this place, the basically gave me a run down of the jobs they had to offer, and locations of the apartment complex's they said were open to hiring leasing consultants. A week or so after the interview, I went in for my training. The class was a 6 hr. UNPAID training in a cramped room, with not enough chairs to seat everybody that was there. The go through pamphlets of different properties in which they send their employees, what to expect at each property, what amenaty's are available, do mock phone calls, so we can get used to the script, etc. Then they go through, and tell you, to expect a phone call within two to three days of the class, and be expecting to go to work.

Now, I went to class with 16 other people, and exchanged phone numbers with several of the members in class, all there in hopes of getting a higher paying job with good benefits. It's been 3 weeks since our training, I still haven't been placed at any of these supposed high class properties. I have called the company twice to find out why, and all I get is "Well, as soon as we find somebody that fits your criteria, we'll call you and let you know." Tomorrow, starts week 4 with 0 employment from these people. I have called a few of the people I was in class with, and they are getting the same response that I did. Pretty much word for word. I ask anybody that is thinking about getting into the leasing consultant job, STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. They make a bunch of promises they can't keep. They say there is plenty of work out there, but yet they can't seem to staff the 16 people I was in class with. Who knows how many other people they put through previous and following classes that are still out there waiting to be place. This place is a RIP OFF by every sense of the word.
