Trainer made me believe I had been offered job when I had not which required me to pay for training. Ripoff

Education & Science

For a sales position at an auto dealership I had an interview with the sales manager who later said for me to come back in for a second interview with a different person who, I was led to believe, was another manager for this dealership and therefore authorized to offer me a sales position there.

This other person told me that I had the sales position there but that before I began selling, I was required to pay for and take a training class there at the dealership. He also said that he would be instructing the class and that the dealership would reimburse my training cost after I either achieved a certain number of sales or worked there for a certain length of time.

The training class contract states that upon completion there is no guarantee of acquiring a position, but since I already had the position with and would be reimbursed by the dealership and therefore did not need to acquire a position, I agreed to pay for and take the training only on that basis. At no time during the interview did this other person inform me that he was a professional trainer for another company instead of a manager for this dealership.

After beginning the training class I learned that this other person was actually a trainer for Creative Training and Consulting and not a manager for this dealership. After completing the training class I learned that I did not have the sales position with this dealership after all, because since the trainer was not a manager for the dealership, he was not authorized to tell me that I had the position in the first place.

Therefore I believe that I am entitled a full refund of my payment for the training class, since I was deceived by the trainer into paying for it.
