Misinformed, gave erroneous information regarding gigabyte usage and how it was accumulated

I called the phone number given on the primary 'Verizon' web site and spoke with a Verizon sales rep. I had been calling several wireless internet providers in trying to determine if a wireless system might be cost effective for me and my business, as well as determining the best provider / company. I was told that 'Verizon' had the very best reception out there, so I called to try and learn more about the product.

Well, when the sales rep informed me that they had a 5 gigabyte cap for monthly usage the red flag went up. I knew that overage charges could rack up very quickly, so my next logical question to the Verizon sales rep was "exactly how do the gigabytes accumulate"??? This is the lie that I was told." Almost no one ever goes over the 5 gigabyte cap for the month. The only times that has or could happen, is if you are playing on line video games all of the time"

Well, I found that this was misinformation and erroneous to say the least. It seems that a Verizon sales rep will tell you just about anything to make the sale. Lets not assume that the dishonesty and poor ethics end here. After canseling my account within the first month, and being guaranteed a refund of all monies and not being charged for usage (that's what I wast told by Verizon store manager when I returned the product) I recieved a phone call by Verizon telling me that I owed them $280. The monthly bill was $58.00.

Verizon wants to charge me for overage charges. At 25 cents per 'magabyte' over the 5 'gigabytes'. I can only immagine the thousands of people that they are scamming like this. Can you immagine the payoff for literaly thousands of people that they are doing this to?
