For the past three years, I have had a policy with In House Home Warranty. Until now, they covered repairs without a problem, but this week, I discovered that they DO NOT REPLACE broken appliances, which was news to me.

My dishwasher went out, and I was told that because the repairs were more than the value of the appliance, I was on my own. Then, a week later, the water heater started producing rusty water, and they told me again that I was on my own.

Though it doesn't specifically say this anywhere in the contract that I can find, both servicemen told me that they don't replace or repair items that are past their expected life span.

What a scam! A previous home warranty company I worked with replaced a water heater, and my son got a brand new stove from his company. Everyone I tell this story to believes that broken appliances should be replaced... Otherwise, why would anyone need to pay $400 per year for a policy.

In House advertises it's policy by pointing out the cost of replacing covered items. To me, this is a clear indication that replacement is covered. If this is not the case, then they are at the very least engaging in false advertising.

I'm writing this so that others will be aware of how this company operates so that they won't learn the hard way as I did.

Steer clear! This company is purely dishonest!
