Clever way to con businesses! We got an item, we got an invoice... But did we place an order?

A few months ago at work, our courier delivered a box containing a Konica brand toner cartridge that wasn't the right cartridge for the Konica copier we have in our office. Maybe a week later, I got an invoice from Summit Office Supply for a severely overpriced Konica toner cartridge but strangely, the description on the invoice didn't even match the description of the cartridge we received.

I questioned the person in our office whose name was referenced on the invoice but he said he never ordered it.

I tried to call Summit several times but they never answered their phone and they never bothered to return any of my messages. This went on for an entire month.

I realized that this was a total scam so I'm sure this company goes under several different names. They're counting on busy A/P workers who would prefer to just pay an invoice to get it out of the way rather than run in circles trying to research it.

Watch out for situations like this! Even if it turns out to be something you can use, you're getting ripped off!
