Constant overcharging

Pretty simply, everything is overcharged.

The plan I am on is supposed to be $. 10 a minute and $1 for each day that a call is made. At first it was like that and everything was fine. Over since about two months ago they have started charging me more and more though.

I had made it a practice to have phone conversations as quickly as possible to save money. So many time I would have a phone conversation in less than one or two minutes and then be charged $. 40 or $. 50. It doesnt seem like much but this is double the rate I'm supposed to be paying so it is a rip off.

The amount I am charged is reported after every call. It does seem like money drains out of my account even faster than it reports though. Yesterday I was almost out of minutes, with $2.60 left in my account. I made a one minute phone call (which should be $. 10 plus the $1 daily fee or $1.10) and after that I saw that I only had $. 40 left in my account. So once again I paid double what was supposed to be charged.

Also, on my phone there is an internet button that I accidentally press sometimes. I immediately hangup but invariably it reports that 100bytes or so were tranferred and this will be charged $. 10 or $. 20. This is more of a problem with poor phone design I think.

So my advice is to steer clear of AT&T. If you live in the Gastonia/Charlotte area I recommend Cricket as they are far superior in their service plan and you always pay a flat rate every month (which is half of what the other companies that are just now coming out with these flat rates charge).

I used to have Cricket but I figured I could save a few dollars buying minutes and using the phone very frugally. Guess not.
