I found this dating service or I should say they found me when I signed up for a trial membership with Christian Caf. Within a week I received a phone call from Together Dating Service in San Antonio. For whatever reason, I decided to drive to San Antonio just to talk to them and find out about there service... Well the rest of my story is just about the same as everyone else. After spending about 2 to 3 hours meeting with the counselor she convinced me to sign up with them because; they did background checks on everyone before they would match someone which was much safer than the internet; the counselor shared personal information about herself and her family, her sister was matched with a great guy; she kept telling me how great I was and how excited she was because she had several men she would like to match me with (rancher with lots of money, a successful businessman, etc.) When I hesitated about signing the contract, the counselor said I thought you like the service. Why would you want to use the internet when it's not safe, what's wrong, etc. Etc. So, against my better judgment I did like everyone else on this site, I signed the contract. This was around 5:30pm on a Saturday evening.

As soon as I left their office I knew I had made a mistake so when I got home I called and left a message stating that I wanted to void the contract and requested they credit my CC account. Since it was after office hours, I also followed up with an email to make sure they received my request.

I then decided to research their service and found that I made a big mistake by trusting and believing this company. I also found out that during the last Legislative Session REPRESENTATIVE EDMUND KUEMPEL FILED a BILL RELATING TO THE CANCELLATION OF a DATING SERVICE CONTRACT. HB 2623 was referred to the Senate Committee on Business & Commerce and is currently pending their approval. The effective date of hb 2623 is september 1. My attorney mailed a letter to Jeanette Weisberg, Member Services Director requesting a refund. Mr. Weisberg responded to my attorney and stated that I did cancel my contract in the time allowed EXCEPT for the fact that they had sent me 2 matches via email. He then stated the contract states it cannot be cancelled after receiving a match. They NEVER sent me any matches by email, snail mail, telephone or any other means. As I told my attorney, since I requested my contract be canceled within 2 or 3 hours after leaving their office after 5:30pm on a Saturday evening I find it extremely hard to believe they could have completed a background check on me and then emailed me 2 matched before 8:30 pm Saturday night.

I have been trying for over six months to resolve this with Together without filing a suit but it does not appear that this is going to happen so I plan to file a suit after the first of the year. If anyone has any suggestions on how we can contact each other so that maybe we could join forces, please let me know. I am willing to help anyone or do whatever it takes to keep this from happening to other people.
