Catering Wedding Catering Job A Disaste

This is a warning for anyone who might be thinking of catering an event with Ms Chef Alaina. She is a rip-off artist from the get-go. She catered my daughter's wedding last July. What a joke. For $3500.00 and 100 guests, all we got was a few bits and pieces of what was promised in the contract. Chef Alain's helpers were even commenting on her prowess as a scam artist ex. "If you think this is bad, you should see what she did to her Mother's Day clients".
As Chef Alaina "pretended" to be busy in the kitchen at my daughter's house, the guests waited and waited and waited. To say the least it was embarrassing for my daughter, son-in-law and the parents.
Chef Alaina visited the wedding reception site prior to the wedding date and gave her full approval that she'd be able to produce food for the 100 guests. The menu included fresh veggie trays, cornbread, potato salad, collard greens, fried green tomates, Cajun-style fried catfish, and for dessert strawberry shortcake and peach cobbler. As touted in Alaina's website "all her food is prepared fresh" excuse me... Canned peaches, and canned strawberry filling. Store-bought sponge cake is not what I make when I prepare these dishes. My, my, my... Chef Alaina took the shortcut on those. To make the sting even worse, she produced 2 very small "shortcakes" and 1 small "peachcobbler".
Many of the guests had small children who were hungry. Their loud questions of "when are we going to eat?" were obvious and troublesome as food did not appear in anything that resembled what the contract specified.
Now to make matters even worse, Chef Alaina, and I say that very loosely, demanded full payment in cash only 3 weeks before the wedding date. After this date she notified my daughter that there would be no fried green tomates, what's that about??? And what happened to the "contract".
Chef Alaina failed miserably as a caterer in all respects. Today she has opened her own restaurant with I am sure the money she took from my daughter. When she was served with papers to appear in small claims court, she denied her identity to the officers. Good thing my daughter had given them a picture of the perpetrator.
Take a warning... Bypass this caterer if you want good food, good service and a happy memory at your event.
