I was recruited by one of their sales rep, I was dubious about commission only job but he showed me his commission checks and I was blown away at how much he was making and decided to give it a go. To my surprise I was running good leads and in the first week of selling in the field I made $1000 in commission. Even better it was pretty close to my home. But that is where the fun ended. I was told that I would have to occasionally run a few leads in Detroit, to you have to run leads at least hour away from you home. Then it turned to every day run leads hour away from your home and those leads were customers that could not afford our products, were renters who could not landlord permission, or homeowners who could not get GE financing, etc. Keep in mind that you did not get paid for leads but for sales. Then it came to my attention that other reps were running the leads that I created when I door hanged my neighborhood.

Basically Empire Today, caused me to become broke by running leads that I should not have run when they knew they would be sending me out to leads the would lead to no sale. What was even worse I discovered that if you were a minority sales contractor that they would routinely send you to Detroit East Side almost 80% of the time. One contractor had his car stolen another had his tires taken off the front of his car and lastly one had been shot at.

This is not a good company to waste your time on. You will not get a fair opportunity to make money. The ones that did make it refused their leads and went through their own previous customer base they came from.
