Paws And Claws Pet Nanny (owner Amanda Barr)
Did not perform services after being paid up front and does not return phone calls

My wife and I contacted by e-mail Paws and Claws dog walking service owned by Amanda Barr for dog walking service, to be provided from Oct 31 - Dec 14. We met on Oct. 31 and fulfilled our obligation of filling out the extensive paperwork about our dog such as id number, microchip number, vaccines etc. We also made payment in full in the amount of $330.00 for her services of walking our dog on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays. Amanda as I mentioned, met us on Friday Oct 31 and began right away for taking our dog on a walk. She also showed up on Sat Nov 1, and Sun Nov 2.

Starting Fri Nov 7 she did not come to walk our dog. When I came home from work at night, I noticed she didn't show up. That evening, I sent and e-mail about it to her. She contacted me the next morning and said her employee was there to walk my dog, but I clearly saw the leash had been untouched and exactly where I left it. She assured me through her e-mail response that she would be at my house to walk my dog on the next day which was Sat and Sun (8 and 9 of Nov). So this time, my wife arranged the leash in a very special manner as to be able to clarify once and for all if she had came. Again, she had not. I contacted her by phone and e-mail and have not heard from her since. I have tried over 50 phone calls to her and by e-mail. She has the key to my apartment, and knows my work hours. I will be having my locks changed today because I fear she may be more than just an irresponsible business owner.

In a nutshell we paid for 7 weekends of dog walking service and only received only one before she disappeared. I contacted Pet Sitters International and Pet Sitter Biz which are organizations she lists on her website and they contacted me and said they have had complaints about her and I should contact the police. I also contacted the BBB and noticed she already has a claim against her. Amanda's website is www.pawsandclaws.com and seems to be nothing more than a scam. I would like to take her to small claims court or at least have her investigated so that this doesn't happen to another unfortunate person. As it is, this will have cost my wife and I $285 (the remainder of the service)$25 for a key replacement and $100 for the magnetic key all of which she still has, for a total of $410.00. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
