Horribel Service

Shops, Products, Services

In January I agreed to become a distributor of NFL/MLB/NASCAR/NCAA products. A large part of my decision was based on the representative's assertion that for a cost a locating company would find me 9 prime locations to place my displays.

After receiving the inventory I was contacted via phone by APS. Finally in May a locator came to my office. He asked for a $200 advance as gas was getting high. I gave it to him. Couple of weeks go by and I try to contact him. Phone is disconnected. I never saw him again.

Against my better judgment I accepted another locator to town in June (after repeated requests). After 2 trips he presented me 7 signed "agreements" with assurance they were all legit, asked for $700 cash as he needed to leave town. Even thought the first guy cheated me, as APS had been contracted by my distributor I felt a sense of trust and I needed to get my product out.
I paid him.

Of the 7 locations only 2 displays were placed. 3 did not want the display at all. It had not been explained properly to them by the locator. 2 others I could never locate the person who allegedly signed the agreement. All 7 of these locations were in low income or moderately low income areas.

I did place the two displays, but was asked to remove them with 45 days due to shoplifting problems.
When I inquired about the guarantee I was told they would find me 2 new locations (even though I paid for 9). To date no locator has returned to town to my knowledge.

If you are referred to APS, be cautious. At the very least do not pay them (and they insist on cash) until you have met the proprietors and have placed your product. Me I will never again do business with them.

Out $900 cash (to my knowledge my distributor also paid $900) and nothing to show for it.
Any questions try me at nm (REDACTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)
