Phantom DSL services

In July I started the process of buying my first home. After looking at several homes my wife found one to her liking. Me being a gamer called the local phone company that would be providing my service to see if there was DSL at the home. I was told by the sales office yes there was DSL there. It was pining all zeros but that was do to the phone lines not being hooked up.

I ordered my DSL and phone numbers to have it in place when I moved in. When the technician came out to hook the phone up I asked him where my modem was he said he was done. He said there isn't any DSL in this area so why would I need a modem...

I called customer service who was apologetic but worthless. I call once a week to get DSL at my home to see what they say and 1 out of 10 times I get the same line from sales. Yes it is in your area but it is pinging zeros but that doesn't mean anything. I will send in a report to the engineers and they will hook you up. The engineers call and tell me it isn't in my area it will not be in my area until they (corporate) get off there butt and upgrade the old equipment. Consumer affairs are also quite apologetic but they say it is an engineering issue they will have to talk to you... So i watch $10,000.00 worth of PC's struggle with Dial-UP do to incompetent sales people...

It is now 2008 and after corporate saying next year it will be in my are I don't think it is ever coming. They are sorry and say they will return your call but never do. I did get some great recordings of there sales people telling me DSL was in my area with the operator number and was told they will be dealt with... Right...
