Ripoff Sold us useless $50 gift card. Refuses to hono

Hey there, just wanted to pass this info on to all my friends and ask them to pass this on to all of yours.
I bought a gift certificate for $50.00 for Ed to buy a watch and before he could spend it, Service Merchandise closed here in Jacksonville.
But, they are online with the same company and same name.
So, I attempted to order the watch from them, and guess what! After numerous attempts I finally got a two sentence reply from them.
"We do not have to honor anything we sold before we came out of bankruptcy." Sorry.
So, they have their new business on the Internet and we have a piece of plastic.
I want you to be aware of what kind of company you are dealing with and would ask you to not do business with them.
I don't think it is just my principals, but the whole system if wrong. If we work hard for our money, then no one person or business should be allowed to profit from us and then profit again from our losses.
Please pass this on.
I think I will frame this gift card, so I will never forget Service Merchandise and what they stand for.
