Sell used returned office items as new Columbus

Did google search for heavy duty stapler and found this merchant (disount office items.com). Purchased several items including two heavy duty office staplers. Received one new (I hope) and one used broken defective stapler with labels on each side that said boiler room copy office on each side of body of stapler. Stapler was completely defective and mechanism would not work. It appeared there were dozens of staples jammed in the mechanism. I'm sure it was returned at least once before as there are labels on each side plus the staples inside which I did not purchase with this stapler. Any attempt to open the stapler to remove jam wasn't possible without breaking the latch. I phoned and received a message stating it was after business hours, so I sent an email. The reply came a day later telling me to wait 24-48 hours to receive a UPS label via email from this merchant. And the instructions stated once they received the defective unit they would then send a replacement. All the time I need the stapler which I already paid for, this merchant expects me to wait for them to get around to sending a label, get the defective and already sold/returned one back and then shipping for the new one (if they would send a new one and not another defective/returned one). I phoned again and got a voice mail system which finally got me over to someone named Joy (after pushing buttons on my phone quite a few times). While I was explaining the situation and right in the middle of speaking Joy placed me on hold with music playing in the background. Very rude. Customer service isn't a fortee of this merchant. She came back on and promised a new stapler would be sent immediately. All this after a very bad experience and my persistence. I wouldn't recommend using this merchant if you want something that works and is useable right away. I don't know the outcome at this writing but will come back to update this report as developments occur.
