Real Estate Sales Leads

Based on a phone conversation with a salesperson at Reply! Inc. (aka Reply Real Estate or ReplyRealEstate.com) back on July 30th they made a claim that they had 1 lead (potential more) ready to send me of a person (or people) specifically looking to buy or sell property in my main market area of focus as a real estate agent. This turned out to NOT be true!

The salesperson also stated in our conversation two things.

#1 - I was offered a prorated trial of $2.90 ($44.95/month IF I continued in August and beyond). I would have until the end of the business day on Thursday, July 31 to contact leads and verify their quality, accuracy, etc. And if I was not satisfied and/or the leads were not in my designated area and/or the leads were bad or unreachable I had the option to cancel my account and NOT be billed for ANY additional charges.

#2 - I was offered an opportunity to contact leads and verify their quality, accuracy, etc. And if I was not satisfied and/or the leads were not in my designated area, and/or the leads were bad or unreachable I had the option to cancel my account, NOT be charged for the bad leads, and NOT receive or be charged for any additional leads!

-As it turns out, all 3 leads were from areas outside my requested zip codes and...

-The leads arrived late (after the end of the business day of the phone call) leaving me with only 1 day to contact and verify the leads before I'd be charged for them and the following months account fee of $44.95

-I never received the original promised lead for the person that was supposedly looking for property in my territory.

-After several attempts to contact the given leads by phone and e-mail there were no responses

-The leads were also NOT qualified leads (they were people with fair to poor credit which is basically a dead lead in today's credit constrained market)

-The offered leads were also indicated as looking for ridiculous if not impossible deals such as a 4 bed/3 bath in a high-end area for $120,000 or a 3 bed/2 bath condo in a nice neighborhood for $100,000 or less. These requests were completely unrealistic and there are no properties on the market (not even foreclosures) in those areas for that price!

Now after seeing 2 charges on my credit card for $44.95 and $89.90 I am very upset! I called the number displayed on my credit card statement and talked to an account manager, but he refused to reverse the charges even though I explained to him everything that had happened. I even had two separate phone calls from people at Reply earlier this month letting me know everything would be taken care of, my account would be canceled, and I would NOT be charged for anything other than the $2.90 prorated trial fee.

All I am asking for them to do is reverse these charges, cancel my account, and leave me alone and I will do the same to them! It's not just about the $134.85 that the company basically stole from me, but the principle of the matter, their unethical sales tactics, and empty promises. I do not like being mislead!

Realtors beware! I would recommend hanging up the phone next time you get a random call from Reply! Or any other company offering leads for a fee!
