First Bankcard Systems Promised refund on terminal, kept terminal, no refund, avoided calls

Tim Laudan (high school classmate) sold me a credit card terminal, he told me when I bought it that if it was not what I needed that I could return it. As it turned out, it was not the right terminal for my business so I was going to take him up on his offer. After a few avoided phone calls, I finally got him on the phone and he told me to bring in the terminal (this was when his office was in Dallas) and he would have one of his employees write me a check. I go in, return the terminal, the employee said they would mail me the check. I have a receipt showing I returned the device. Weeks go by, no check, so I call and find that he is no longer at that location. I track him down to Ennis, Tx. Which is 20 miles from where we grew up and called him on his personal cell phone and of course he said it would be mailed, blah blah blah, I never got a check.

I had forgotten about this, I was cleaning my outlook contact list and came across his name, remembered how angry I was at the time and decided to google his name and found that he had ripped someone else off too.

This happened about 4-5 years ago, I'm not trying to get my money back, just trying to help others from being taken advantage of as not everyone can afford to lose $500 and not worry about it.

$500 is what he walked away with, maybe even a good laugh, he obviously is not a man of his word so watch out.
