Fraudulent us too!

We had a phone account with Qwest. We chose, through them to have MCI as our long distance. This was almost 10 years ago! Several years after closing the account, we got a collection notice from some agency claiming we owed MCI over $100 for long distance.

We tried to tell them that we paid our bill through Qwest and never got separate bills and they didn't believe us.
Now it is on the credit report and is ruining the credit score for my husband. They never sent us an actual bill proving that we made phone calls with the account or what timeframe we supposed had the account.

I read about another person who hasn't gotten anywhere with resolving this and was hoping that someone knows how to do it. I don't know the agency anymore, but I do think that we are entitled to know when the charges were made so we can verify with Qwest as to when we moved companies.

I do think that this situation is very similar to that other person and who knows how many other victims there are to this.
