Deceptive Auto-Renewal Program, will not let you cancel

I had an ad in the yellow pages. I called to cancel my ad in October, they said I needed to send a letter. So on October 20th I mailed a letter canceling my ad. I continued to received bill for the ad and they renewed my ad in spite of my cancelation request. I called several times and sent them yet another letter.
On July 8th I called and spoke with a Idearc representative. I attempted to explain that a mistake had been made. I explained that I had called to cancel my ad in October but was told to send a letter. I also explained that I had sent a letter on October 20th to cancel my ad and my ad was still printed. I also explained that it was highly inconvenient for me to still be receiving phone calls resulting from the yellow page ad at the number listed.

The representative stated that a mistake may have been made, but I still needed to pay because they refused to correct the mistake. I asked to speak to a supervisor; I was told that none was available. I insisted on speaking to a supervisor. She said that she would take my name and number and have someone call me back. She also added that no one would call me back.

So my account has been forwarded to collections and I am still trying to fight this battle. I'd be happy to participate in a class action suit because of their unscrupulous tactics.
