Superfood Warehouse
Selling unriped jackfruit

Shops, Products, Services

My husband went to Superfood Warehouse and saw jackfruits which are typical fruits of Asia. It cost around $25-30 per fruit. The first time there were 3-4 fruits. He bought one. We waited a couple of days before opening the fruit. It was a very young fruit and was pretty tasteless.
We were planning to visit friends and thought it would be a good idea to bring this along since we dont' usually eat them that often. My husband went back there. There were 3 of them - one was very soft and he knew for sure it was over riped so he chose the harder one, spending about $27 for just one fruit. From previous experience, we left it out in the sun to make sure it ripens more. After 5 days, we took it to our friends and opened it up. This one was even worse. The fruit was very young and completely tasteless and there was no way to make it any riper.
My husband took it back to the market for them to see, uneaten. They just shrugged and said too bad. We asked for a refund but they would not give it and said we can go tell anyone we like. They don't care.
What can we do?
