Mis-printed order, refused return, politically motivated intentional "error" Internet

Shops, Products, Services

I work for a political campaign. We ordered thousands of postcard-size handouts, and when we received them, they were just as ordered... Except the candidate's face was tinted a neon red! We needed them immediately and they were no good, so I called the customer service desk.

The agent says that we need to send it 20-30 copies of the prints (since they didn't keep one on file) and they would determine whether or not they screwed up. Mind you, this is the same artwork we used for our business cards and the company we had print those didn't screw up the photograph. The agent also says that it might have been my fault because, as it mentions in fine print on a page that you don't see as you go through the ordering process, the artwork needs to be saved in "CYMK" formate instead of "RGB" format. As if 1) I was given notice of this beforehand and 2) they should not have contacted me if the photograph looked humiliating.

Of course, we didn't have an extra week to spend waiting for them to receive the bad artwork, and had to go with another company for the next order, but we still were entitled to a replacement order, so we sent the sample in.

Called them back 11 days later. They claim that they did not receive our artwork, and the artwork they had was tinted red just like the printout. The latter claim is impossible, since JPG images don't change colors from one machine to the next, and even if they did, the change would have affected the entire thing, not just one portion of one side of the card.

So they basically told us we were S.O.L.

Also: you can't get proofs if you're on any sort of urgent deadline, since they take an extra week to receive (and cost $40 extra)

Although we took them up on a discount to print their name and number on our flyers in a tiny font, they "forgot" to. Since the picture was obviously tampered with, it's likely that the "error" was politically motivated and they took their names off of the flyers because they knew they were going to screw them up.

Don't use this company, especially if it's for political purposes.
