Misguided informayion on product delivery, collecting payments for items that are no longer available

I placed an order for an item needed for a specific date, I also sent artwork for imprintwhich was approved by rep, invoice was received, payment made, then I was informed item no longer produced substition was made, then I was informed artwork format can't work, artwork was sent. Then I was informed production will be 5 days instead of 2-3 which I was inititially told prompting me to place order. My first response to this was please send blank item right away because my client will not receive product in time, I was informed it will be sent next day. I spoke to my client right away whom informed me they could not use items blank, I emailed supplier within a few minutes and informed them that I need to cancel the order and will need a refund. They informed me that items are in production and they are shipping, talk to my customer they will understand. That is insulting assuming I do not know how to do my job. I have sent complaint to 2 managers and have received no response since then, I do not know what is happening.
