Last payment not credited

My last payment to verizon was due shortly before my two year contract ended. Went to above store paid it and then call and email to cancel my services, then 5 months later, I receive a letter from collection stating I still owe that money. Once again Verizon is trying to rip me off like they tried to do back in 2000 where I had to take them to court and I won the battle. I know!!! Guys, I like their services and fell into their trap again...

Tried with my credit report, but they believe them even with my receipts they do not clear my credit. I start to believe that this is how corporate america is trying to survive under an economical situation like now...
