Wilson Van Lines. Power Point Movers, All Points Movers Moving scam, stole all household goods, no insurance coverage, lies

Shops, Products, Services

I booked a move from California to Texas through Wilson Van Lines. Their quote was higher than all the others I received, but they agreed to do all the packing AND the truck was exclusively mine with the same driver and the same crew the whole way. Since I was already in Texas and didn't have time to pack my entire house in California, I decided to use this company. They assured me that it could all be done on April 25.

On April 25, the crew showed up, and they did a phenomenal job. They did an awesome job packing, so I had no worries about things getting broken. They were very pleasant, and I didn't have a problem buying them lunch and tipping them well for a job well done. They arrived at 10am and had everything done by 4pm.

Delivery was supposed to occur on April 29, as told by Nicole. I had tried to delay it until the weekend, so I wouldn't have to take off work, but she said it had to be done within 3-5 days. So, Tuesday it was.

On Tuesday morning, 10 minutes before delivery was supposed to occur, I was called by Augustine at Power Point movers, telling me the truck was broken down between Dallas and Houston, so delivery would be delayed. When I asked why it was broken down between Houston and Dallas (which isn't on the way from Los Angeles), he didn't have an answer. He called repeatedly throughout the day, giving me the status of a broken fuel injector. He told me the truck was towed to Waco and was being worked on. The goods would be delivered on April 30 at 9am.

At 5pm, I was called by Dianna, telling me the truck had actually been stolen that morning from a hotel in Dallas. A police report had been filed around the same time they initially called me and said the truck was broken down.

My family called the hotel where the truck was stolen from and spoke to the driver that evening. He said the truck had never broken down, and he was in Houston picking up another load, clearly violating the original contract. The driver, Demetrious, said the office had told him to pick up that load. The office, Augustine and Odie, both denied that he had made a trip to Houston. More lies. Later, Dianna came back and told me that the driver (who told us he was from Los Angeles) said he was in Houston picking up a few boxes of clothes from Houston, but he was afraid to tell me that.

When I got in touch with their insurance company, it took two weeks to get more information from them about what was going to be covered.in the end, nothing ended up being covered, because All Points was doing business as Power Point Movers and their insurance coverage was null and void. I lost many priceless antiques that had been in my family for 3 generations, original art, not to mention all my family photographs and history that cannot be replaced. Nothing was covered by Power Point/All Points/Wilson Van Lines, although they did refund the deposit and the cost of the move that I had already paid. Lucky me.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.
