Picture.com
I was ripped off too

I suspected that picture.com was not a legit company but not soon enough. I somehow came upon their web site last year after a trip to Europe and I submitted a couple of my photos.
Soon after came the letter telling me about my outstanding photography talent and offering to publish my photos in their new book Endless Journeys. I sent in the money to buy the book which they said would be out early in 2008.
At first I didn't think it was real weird that I was paying for the book but then I started think about it and wondered whether the book was really going to be published.
I got the letter about the award and the convention - I was tempted to try to locate the convention location in Las Vegas to see if there really was one because by this time I was feeling that I'd been had. Then I got the letter (s) telling me that they were sorry that I couldn't attend the convention and about my wonderful award and pin, etc. And how I could BUY them.
Now I get daily emails from them about one thing or another even though I tried to unsubscribe.
Fortunately all I spent was the initial check for the book but I feel really bad that I wasn't smarter sooner and now that I'm reading all the reports I really feel dumb.
