I was also at the poetry convention in August. Like another report there was no time for them to have printed the checks. Least of all to have reviewed all of the winners from each reading room and pick the winners. The lady who accepted the award for her friend was local to the area and I know because I talked to her the night before and she said she was there to meet a friend for the dinner, only thing was that she went in and seated herself close to the front of the stage by the officials and thier guests.

I talked with a of other attendies and most of them recieved the same letter I did saying they were a finalist for the poet of the year. This was a form letter sent to everyone that they hoped to get to attend.

I have submitted 6 poens and have been told that each of them have been published in different books. They gave me the Book number, but I have never been able to find any of these books. I even got a letter saying that one poem was the editor choice winner, never found the book.

These people pray on the dreams and desires of poets to make themselves rich. There was between 1000 attendies at the Aug 04 convention do the math at about $600 dolors each and only $75,000 in prize money and you had to pay for your own hotel room and paking. Over $500,000 left after prize money and the speakers don't get all of that and they do this 2 times a year.

Think before submitting to poetry.com or attending an ISP convention, Who is realy getting rich?
