I ordered a Christmas parcel from a digital technology company in South Carolina, United States and paid for the express shipping to my residence in Ontario, Canada.

The package was delivered by DHL to my address within the time specified under the contract however; I was not home during the day to receive it. I work during the day. Apparently they make home deliveries while people are working instead of later in the day. DHL left a note on my door which indicated that they would come back the following day to re-deliver my parcel.

I immediately called DHL and told them that I would make sure that I was at home all day, the following day to receive the parcel. I was told by the service personnel that I could expect delivery around 2 PM.

I stayed home ALL DAY the following day as promised. I watched and waited, (6 AM till 2:45 PM), with the phone close by me as well. At around 2:45 PM on that day I had seen no sign of anyone from DHL., Absolutely nobody came. No phone call, no message posted on the door, NOTHING. I called the office to find out the status of the delivery. The person that took my call was pleasant and quite professional. This person tracked my parcel on their computer to see what was happening. I was told that a morning delivery attempt was made to my address and that I would now have to make arrangements to come to pick it up from there warehouse.

I explained that this was impossible and definitely untrue and that there was no attempt whatsoever as I actively watched for it all day. I then requested them to contact the person driving the delivery truck and have him call me right away or deliver it that day as had been previously arranged.

This communication with DHL personnel was a complete waste of my time. After talking to several people at DHL, no one followed up with proper service, a phone call nor did DHL ever bring the parcel which I paid them to deliver. I ended up driving out of my way about 100 km to one of their offices in order to pick up my parcel. This was very inconvenient to say the least.in addition to this I also lost a day of wages at work. All for nothing. The worst thing was being lied to by DHL personnel.

I don't trust companies that blatantly lie or misrepresent facts to their customers. If a company possesses no conscience about misleading people like this, I really wonder what other deceitful dealings they could be doing to other customers out there. I no longer trust DHL and shall never use them again. Ever.
