Scammed by Comcast - this company is terrible - stay away!

I have comcast and I am about to cancel all of my services as well as putting a letter in the mailboxes of the 540 homes in my neighborhood to inform them what comcast is doing and has done to my father.

My dad got a letter stating that he owed a collection agency $156 because of a comcast bill. He never had Comcast and so I wanted to help my old man out and so I called the collection agency - they would do nothing but take a payment. They would not remove it from the credit report - they never sent my dad a letter or make a call to him. He WAS notified through a call yesterday for the first time. I was pushed to call comcast and so I did. They could have cared less. I proved to them that he never lived there and that this bill is not his but yet was in his name and they said that it went back to 2006 and so they couldnt remove it. I told them this is the first we have known about it and they said that was tough luck.
So I gave them my Visa after 2 hours of arguing and paid $126. They took the $126 because the collection agency wanted to charge a $30 fee.
Anyway, I can not believe that the coroporate office would refuse to talk to me or my father and clearly didnt care. They took advantage of a 61 year old man and it makes me sick.

I will make sure that everyone of my friends, family and neighbors understands that comcast could randomly show up on their credit and they can be forced into paying them something in order for them to keep it off your credit. Times are tough for comcast I guess. Pretty damn sad.
