Clearmyrecord.com - eas is a waste and caused me more problems

I have read several threads about online expungement services! Mostly about people curious on if these services are for real or work. Unfortunately I was in the same postion myself two years ago, and had spent over $20,000 on lawyers fees on the original case. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY ~ I recieved a 5yr deferred sentence which was for pocession of stolen property. I didn't steal anything for those who care, just bought the property, which turned out to good to be true! I plead guilty as the DA made us a deal, and I wasn't willing to risk prison time or my life. My wife was also looking at the same charges since she was at the same residence. So they hooked us both up and we made a deal for her only to recieve one year.

We looked into hiring an attorney and it was going to cost around $2,000 to retain. Meaning it could cost more if the lawyers felt they could squeeze more out of you. After many hours researching I used EAS, and what a nightmere that turned out to be. They made things ten times worse. It took approx. 2.5 months before we ever saw any paperwork. We then filed the paper work exactly as explained making sure we did everything outlined. We paid to have copies of all the paperwork sent to OSBI, DA, COURT, ETC. These were all overnighted and signature required pcs of mail which costed like $21 a pc.

We showed up to court only to be laughed at pretty much. EAS had left the case number blank and so the court clerk had just assigned us another case number (oh no). That means we have even have another case on the court records, when were trying to get rid of the ones already on there. The judge told us we had to file under the original court case number and see the original judge who had given us the sentences.

A rep from the DA's office showed up and explained several steps we had missed and wasn't told to us by EAS. Every person we sent those papers to had objected as the paperwork was incorrect on how they had worded and had us file. So being me I started researching the legals and found how, when, and what I needed to do in order to quailfy to get our records expunged. I talked to EAS probably between 45-65 times on the phone explaining the correct process, about our case, and how I wanted the paperwork to read.

I had a conversation with probably everyone that works there including a supervisor named Tark. I finally thought the correct paperwork was on it's way-ya right! I recieved paperwork with my wifes name wrong and then someone else's information including their personal stuff. I called and you can only imagine the words from my mouth. No not really as I'm a very relaxed and nice person and I needed them for the paperwork (hopefully). Finally 1 year 7 months later I got the final paperwork after walking them through ever pc of paperwork it's right. After all this I'd suggest not being cheap as they have costed us much more than what it would have costed to hire a pro.

The amount of time, cost to re-file 140.00 with court, cost to re-send registered mail $21x5, headaches (lol), and original cost. These people aren't in anyway lawyers and are verylimited as to or how they can help you. Basically all they are going to do is provide the paperwork for you to file with the court clerks office. Which if done correctly works for someone who is being cheap. You will have to face the (original) juge and explain to him and under which titles of the law allow you to have your file expunged. If anything is incorrect at all they'll throw it out.in my experience the courts and other agencies don't want people getting their records cleared. This first time offender will never be this situation again! Theres much more to this story but to make things short I'd advise not using EAS.
