Crappy Company

Yesterday, I was frantically looking for a Notary for a permission slip my daughter had to have to go on the Confirmation Retreat with our nearby church. The group at the church was actually waiting for me and I went to Kroger thinking they might have a Notary but they did not but there is a Best Bank inside that store so I asked the Best Bank people if they would notarize the form for me. They asked if I was a "Best Bank customer". Like an idiot, I told them the truth, that I am not, and they refused to do it. I begged and pleaded, I explained that my daughter couldn't go on her retreat if I didn't get this done. I told them they were my last hope and I was so upset about it I was crying. One of the guys told me in a mocking tone as he laughed, that if I opened an account, they'd notarize it. I was so angered by his laughter and ridicule, I told them that was a "bullshit policy" and then that was it, no one would even talk to me anymore.

I think the woman who was working there took pity on me and she told me there was a Jackson Hewitt a few doors down that would notarize it for me. I was able to get it all taken care of just in the nick of time but I went back to Best Bank to complain to the manager, Michael OConnor. When I started to speak with him, I realized he'd been there the whole time I was begging for help and he hadn't done anything. He said it is against company policy to notarize anything for non-customers. He didn't care that I was desperate and he didn't care about making a good impression on someone who might one day want to become a customer because of how nice they had been.

I am going to email Best Bank directly but I hold no hope for anything to be done. What happened to customer service? What happened to common courtesy for people?
I told the manager, Michael O'Connor, that I was going to tell everyone how awful they were to me and I would try to dissuade anyone from banking there—not that I know anyone who does.

So, don't bank with Best Bank—they don't care about people they aren't making money off of.
