Tax Preparation E-Filing messed up! - They refuse to refund prep. Fee

On 2-5-08 I paid Accounting Unlimited 179.00 to process and prepare and e-file my Mary Kay tax return (because my sales director told me to use them!) On 2-14-08 (the date I was supposed to receive the first part of my tax return in my bank account) I check my refund status on the irs. Gov site, it advised me that my refund had already been deposited.
After more than 4 hours of my time I then discovered that Accounting Unlimited has used the wrong account number to process my e-file (even though they made a copy of my check) and I have to wait up to 8 weeks to receive a mailed check for my refund.
I have filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. Since Accounting Unlimited is only offering me $50.00 of my preparation fee back, the BBB has closed the dispute without a satisfactory resolution on my part. I feel that Accounting Unlimited has demonstrated clearly that they do not value my business.
I had tried on at least 10 different occasions for the manager Donnie to call me back, he never returned my phone calls and I have never received an apology from them for their mistake.
I feel that as a small business owner if I had made this same mistake, I would feel OBLIGATED to return my clients fee if it was requested.
I hope that everyone (especially Mary Kay reps) reads this and know that these people have been very rude in not responding to my phone calls (other than the secretary who has no authority over the matter) and they are not willing to make their mistake right by returning my fee of $179.
I have to wait up to 8 weeks for my return. This should have only taken less than 10 business days. Accounting Unlimited failed to do their part of the job by double checking my return before they e-filed it. This is causing me a HUGE inconvenience. I am very upset with them and I would advise that everyone please choose your preparer wisely—you could end up in the same situation.
