Customer Brand Services - Lift-tech
Mystery Shopper Fraud/Scam

Shops, Products, Services

So, I get a UPS envelope in the mail and opened it wondering what it was. The first thing I saw was a check with my name on it for $3870.00. Who wouldn't be happy seeing that!!? I read the cover letter which was filled with the same old too good to be true scam information.

The letter stated that I had filled out a survey and applied for a mystery shopper postion. Nobody would ever remember even if they did fill out an applicaion like that. So it expained that I had to spend $350 at this place, $170 at that place blah! Blah! Blah! And finally, they asked me to send via Money Gram / Western Union $3200.

I found it a little fishy for a couple of reasons. There were countless grammar mistakes (not to be a neat freak) which is very unprofessional on the letter. The zip code does not match with the location. Customer Brand Services was a company that could not be found. Lift-Tech is an electronics and an elevator service company.

I did further investigations and found out that the check was a fraud. I called the bank they asked for the name on the check. The moment I said the word Lift... The guy said that it was a fraud.
