Hearst Corp - Veranda Magazine
Harrassment - Subscription renewed without permission - refuse to cancel

Shops, Products, Services

Like many people, we get more magazines than we have time to read. So when we received a renewal notice for Veranda, we decided not to renew, and simply tossed out the notice.

For the past 6 months or so, we have continued to receive renewal notices. When one of them included text to the effect that we had signed up for automatic renewal (and they are bewildered as to why we asked to be renewed but haven't paid), I sent the notice back with the bill marked "Cancel" and a note explaining we DID NOT agree to any kind of automatic renewal program, and DID NOT wish to continue the subscription.

A month or so later we received a "Final Notice" demanding immediate payment. They had apparently ignored our note. So I sent it again. Today I received ANOTHER demand notice, and am sending it back with yet ANOTHER cancellation request (as well as a mention that I have filed a report with usacomplaints.com)

Hearst's most recent notice included the warning "This will be your final opportunity to resume service on your subscription." I certainly hope so.
