Kept charging, cancellation line hold for 35-60 minutes, hidden termination fee

I tried Vonage and now wonder why I tried at all. I received their modem extremely late. I used it for 2-3 months and then realized that I don't need it anymore.

I tried cancelling with no luck for around 5-6 months and they kept charging me. When I would call no one would answer after holding for 20-30 minutes. After this, when I stayed on hold for 45 minutes someone answered and tried their best to convince me to not cancel their service. I decided anyway and had to have 25 minutes conversation to convince the customer service person Sophie to let me cancel my service. It was one of the worst phone calls of my life. I was then notified of their hefty termination fee, which is something that I was not notified of earlier. The ad that I used to sign up said no obligations, you can cancel whenever you like without any fee.

As other have said Vonage is preventing people from cancelling their service and keep charging them fees that are not specified.
